Swanson Quarter Horses

Swanson Quarter Horses is located in Wahoo, NE and was established by Jason and Michelle in 2004. We are a small operation that focuses on quality AQHA show and using horses. While Jason specializes in the roping events, Michelle focuses on the All-Around Western and English events. Prospects and finished horses for Team Roping, Western Pleasure and everything in between are always available.

Jason started riding and roping as a teenager. His love for the sport has grown into the small business we operate today. By holding ropings and clinics, we are promoting the sport in our area while improving our skills. Quality roping stock and horses are available at all times.

While Jason grew up in rural Nebraska, Michelle comes from a much different background. Michelle grew up in Southern California. She started riding and showing at the age of 5 under the guidance of her sister, Kerri Mckay.  Kerri's guidance and support over the years has been instrumental in Michelle's success and ability in showing horses.

We are also proud keep a small broodmare band of proven mares that are selectively bred to produce superior offspring. Some of the bloodlines include Tiger Leo, Iron Rebel, Sonny Dee Bar, Colonel Freckles, Two Eyed Jack and others.

Along with the horses, Jason produces Team Roping Events in Eastern Nebraska called JS Ropings. The events are well organized using good cattle and providing good payouts and great awards. See the JS Ropings page for additional details and dates.

Claypool Ranch was established in 2003.  Matt Claypool and Cami Whitlatch strive to run a facility that promotes quality, integrity, and most importantly honesty.   In this fast pace industry, Matt and Cami both feel that it is imperative to promote a fun, family oriented atmosphere for their customers.  Their main concern is the well being of their horses and their owners.

Matt envisioned opening Claypool Ranch from a young age.  He grew up showing Quarter horses.  He is experienced in showing events from reining to halter.  His first job was working with Shawn Flarida training reining horses.  He soon found his true passion was showing and training halter horses.  He began working for Randy Jacobs, where he fine tuned his skills on preparing and fitting world class halter horses.   In 2003, Matt decided to make his dream come true and open the doors to Claypool Ranch.    He has been fortunate to have several Congress Champions, AQHA high-point titles, and several Futurity Champions.

Cami began in the industry at the 4-H level and then moved on to Quarter horses.  In 2000, she graduated from the University of Findlay with a degree in business and equestrian studies.  She went to work for Dan and Darlene Trein as an assistant.  She then moved to Florida to work for Clay Farrell, at Prince Farm, before going on her own in Tampa.   In 2005, Cami joined her talent with Claypool Ranch.  Cami’s emphasis is with the performance horses, specializing in both english and western events.  She enjoys preparing both horses and client for the all-around events.  Her talent ranges anywhere from showmanship to horsemanship to equitation to trail.  Cami values the versatility that her expertise provides to her customers.

With the combined knowledge that Matt and Cami have, they are able to give their customers the confidence and support they need to set and achieve their goals.  They have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with several talented individuals and their horses.  They are grateful for their customers continued support and trust in their program.  Matt and Cami believe in their clients and want them to feel comfortable in their program.  They know by working closely with their clients that anything is possible and achievable.
